A new school year always brings fresh beginnings, but for several Concept Schools campuses, this fall marks something even bigger: transformation.
From ribbon cuttings across the Midwest to the expansion of our world-class learning environments, Concept's network is buzzing with energy. Each milestone reflects more than just a new building or a new name—it’s about creating opportunities and setting the stage for an incredible year of learning. Here's how our network has, figuratively and literally, grown since the start of summer.
Starting its first full year under the Concept Schools network, Horizon Science Academy New Bedford will open the school year with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Aug. 27. It is celebrating its name change from "New Bedford Academy" along with its partnership with Concept Schools.
Horizon Science Academy Davenport, the latest addition to Concept's network, will also be breaking out a large pair of scissors this week as it holds its ribbon cutting ceremony on Aug. 29. The school held its first day of class on Aug. 22––a monumental day for the community who had been looking for a solid public school option in the area.
Outside of the newest members of Concept Schools family, our network continues to expand in different ways. Gateway Science Academy Middle started back up in a new building solely dedicated to middle school programming. They've made the most of the new space already as the excitement throughout the fresh campus has been palpable.
"What an incredible first day in our brand-new building!," the school wrote on its Facebook page on Aug. 14. "We loved seeing our students and staff back in action and filling the halls with energy and excitement. Our Gator staff is SO ready for the year ahead."
The middle schoolers aren't the only gators to start the year off on a high note. Gateway Science Academy High, which was recently named the No. 3 charter high school in Missouri by U.S. News & World Report, expanded its gym––giving its athletes more space to hone their skills. With an upgraded facility, it's guaranteed to be a great year for GSA athletics.
Being able to get explore the wonders of reading is critical to student success. Cleveland-area locals understand this which is why they answered the call when Horizon Science Academy Cleveland High asked for donations to build a library. Multiple organizations have stepped up to donate a strong selection of books––a testament to how powerful we can be when come together as a community.
Concept Schools looks forward to another year full of growth and learning!
