Concept Schools is thrilled to announce our network of schools once again set the standard for excellence within their respective states. Earlier today, U.S. News & World Report released its yearly charter high school rankings which featured 11 of Concept’s institutions.
At the top of the list is Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park (No. 1) and Chicago Math and Science Academy (No. 2), who locked in the top-two spots in Illinois in back-to-back years. McKinley Park continues to make a name for itself after rising from the No. 14 spot in 2023 to being named the top charter in the state two years in a row. With a new high school campus at its disposal, the sky is the limit for McKinley Park. CMSA, which was the No. 1 ranked charter in 2023, has been a mainstay in the top-two the past three years.
Here’s a breakdown of the rest of the list.
More Standout Schools
- Illinois: HSA Southwest followed McKinley Park and CMSA as it was named the No. 11 charter high school in the state. After not making U.S. News & World Report’s rankings in 2023, the school has had two top-11 placements the past two years.
- Missouri: Gateway Science Academy High was recognized as the No. 3 charter in Missouri after it provided locals with another excellent high school option over the past year. GSA, which was ranked as the top charter high school in the state in 2024, has notched three top-five rankings since over the last three years.
- Indiana: Indiana Math and Science Academy North made a significant jump from last year’s rankings, coming in at No. 4 in the state after cracking the top-10 in 2024.
- Ohio: Following its No. 8 ranking last year, HSA Columbus High climbed four spots after being named the No. 4 charter high school in the state. HSA Cleveland (No. 21), HSA Dayton High (No. 22), HSA Lorain (No. 76) and HSA Toledo (No. 77) were also featured in this year’s rankings.
- Michigan: Michigan Math and Science Academy Dequindre clocked in at No. 18 after not being named to U.S. News & World Report’s rankings last year.
- Minnesota: Minnesota Math and Science Academy Twin Cities made the list once again and was listed as the No. 44 charter high school in the state.
Congratulations to all of these schools for the hard work they put into making their learning environments the best in their states!
