Celebrating Student Talent in Arts and Languages

Hosted annually by Concept Schools, the Art & Language Festival celebrates cultural diversity, artistic expression, and language learning through performances and visual arts. Founded in 2008 as a Turkish-language event, it expanded in 2013 to include Spanish, English, and other world languages. Students submit performance videos for judging, with selected participants performing songs, poems, dances, and instrumental pieces. The festival also features a public art exhibition showcasing student-created artwork, often from the Concept Schools Art Contest.

Showcasing Global Cultures Through Performance

Art & Language Festival's performances highlight both in‑network student talent and guest cultural groups, offering audiences a rich variety of artistic styles and traditions. Over the years, students and guest performers have represented cultural heritages from places such as Poland, India, Bosnia, Turkey, South Korea, Vietnam, Spain, Mexico, and more, creating a mosaic of global cultures. These performances not only entertain but also help students build confidence, celebrate their heritage, and develop communication skills by performing in front of large audiences.

Visual Arts: Creativity on Display

In addition to live stage presentations, the festival's visual art component invites schools to submit high‑quality pieces that reflect students’ creativity and artistic skill. Artwork is professionally displayed at the venue, with awards in various grade divisions recognizing excellence and encouraging students in visual arts. The event itself takes place at a major cultural venue—the Copernicus Center in Chicago—bringing together families, educators, and community members to celebrate student achievement across multiple disciplines.

A Platform for Expression and Cultural Awareness

Overall, the Art & Language Festival serves as both a platform for student expression and a cultural showcase, reinforcing the value Concept Schools places on arts education, multicultural awareness, and student confidence. By integrating performance, language, and visual arts, the festival offers a vibrant yearly highlight in the school calendar that reflects student creativity and global engagement.
