Engin Blackstone

Engin Blackstone currently serves as the Superintendent of Gateway Science Academies (GSA) in St. Louis, bringing over two decades of experience in charter public schools. He began his career as a Mathematics teacher and has been dedicated to advancing high-quality education since 1997.

Mr. Blackstone holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education and a Master’s in Educational Leadership. Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role in founding and expanding four charter schools within the Concept Schools network. His leadership has been recognized at the state level, and he was honored as School Leader of the Year by the Missouri Charter Public Schools Association (MCPSA) in 2016. Since then, he has continued to contribute to the charter school movement, serving on MCPSA’s Board of Directors since 2016.

Under his leadership, GSA has prioritized academic excellence and growth. He is deeply committed to student success, staff development, and sustainable school growth, ensuring all students have access to high-quality educational opportunities.

Engin is also passionate about mentoring aspiring leaders and fostering strong partnerships across the education sector. He lives in St. Louis with his wife and four children, staying actively engaged in both his professional and personal communities.
