The study of social sciences is as fascinating as it is diverse. Students are taught about history, civic responsibility, government, and service for the greater good. A few key students, however, take these concepts to heart, and they develop both a passion for social studies and a drive for leadership under the guidance of educators who wish for their success.
Heroes beyond History
For the 2026-2027 school year, Concept Schools announced the return of the History Heroes Program, an initiative designed to empower young leaders and celebrate academic excellence by providing middle and high school students with an opportunity to be recognized for their willingness to extend their spirit of service to others – within and outside of their schools. The heroes are the students within Concept Schools who demonstrate exceptional civic leadership and outstanding performance in their social studies classrooms. This initiative is both to highlight achievements and scholastic success as well as to inspire civic engagement and a deeper appreciation for history and social sciences.
Celebrating Student Achievement
The first round of winners of the History Heroes award were selected in October, and each winner was recognized for their passion for social students. Five winners from four campuses were selected, each of whom received a gift card and were mentioned/highlighted in the History Heroes newsletter where their achievements, photos, and project artifacts were shared among the greater Concept Schools community. Through this initiative, Concept Schools reinforces its commitment to fostering thoughtful, active citizens who are prepared to make a positive impact within their schools and communities, and who will reinforce their qualities of service and leadership as they venture towards greater causes.
