The expansion of the Concept Schools network is a major aspect of our future success. It is imperative to us that our presence in the community remain one of service and of responsibility to those who trust us to adhere to our mission and principles, while we stay true to our mission and vision for the future.
For the 2026-2027 school year, Concept Schools proudly welcomed and inaugurated the Indiana Math and Science Academy (IMSA) Central campus as the latest school to join Concept Schools. This new K to 6 campus, located in the Haughville neighborhood of Indianapolis, is a highly welcomed addition to this working-class community, who sees the immense benefit of having a STEM school that is open to their students.
On Wednesday August 5, 2026, Concept Schools and IMSA Central welcomed their first students, which marked a triumphant and joyous accomplishment. No voice or smile of this completed feat was greater than that of Wynsda’ Watson, the inaugural Principal of IMSA Central, and the woman who truly never forgot from whence she came. This is not only Principal Watson’s chance to give back, but it is also an opportunity to return and to make a profound impact within the community from where derives. From her perspective, it is her objective and primary focus to build a community which empowers children to achieve at the highest levels – as bold thinkers, innovators, problem solvers, and principled leaders –to succeed above and beyond the classroom.
The team at IMSA Central is not solely a school, but rather a center of educational empowerment and student excellence manifested in a campus on 14th Street. IMSA Gators (as is their mascot) will discover, grow, and lead together, and will create a legacy that will enforce inspiration for generation after generation of learners.
Concept Schools is proud to welcome the Indiana Math and Science Academy Central school to our network, as the latest to join our team. As we seek to fulfill our mission, we salute those who worked diligently to ensure that the campus would be ready for the first day of class – including the dedicated staff, administrators, families, volunteers, and educators – as they also believe in our mission.
