Six teams from Gateway Science Academy recently represented their schools on the international stage at the VEX Robotics World Championship, competing against some of the top student robotics teams from around the world.
After earning qualification through a successful robotics season, students traveled to the championship event where they tested their engineering, coding, teamwork, and problem-solving skills against elite competitors from across the globe.
The following Gateway Science Academy teams qualified for and competed at the 2026 VEX Robotics World Championship:
- Team 6576C – Clubstep (GSA Smiley Elementary)
- Team 6576A – Star Ninjas (GSA Smiley Elementary)
- Team 6651C – Popcorns (GSA South Elementary)
- Team 50491F – fizzybizzydizzy (GSA High School)
- Team 50491K – Coding Agents (GSA Middle School)
- Team 50491C – The Nerd Cluster All Stars (GSA Middle School)
Among the six qualifying teams, Team 6576C – Clubstep from GSA Smiley Elementary delivered an outstanding performance, advancing to the division finals and earning 5th place out of 80 teams in their division.
Reaching the division finals at the VEX Robotics World Championship is a significant accomplishment and reflects the team's dedication, preparation, and perseverance throughout the season. Competing at this level requires students to think critically, adapt quickly, and work collaboratively while facing some of the strongest robotics programs in the world. Congratulations to all teams on advancing to the international stage!
Beyond competition results, the experience provided students with valuable opportunities to connect with teams from different states and countries, learn new strategies, and gain exposure to advanced robotics and engineering concepts. Events like the VEX Robotics World Championship allow students to apply STEM skills in a real-world environment while building confidence, leadership, and teamwork.
