Students across Concept Schools participated in the 2026 Codeathon, a computer science design challenge that brings together students in grades 3–12 to develop solutions to real-world issues.
Codeathon is a hybrid experience where students collaborate in person over the course of three weeks to design and build a project, then present their solutions virtually. This year’s theme, “Code to End Poverty,” encouraged students to think critically about global challenges and apply their technical skills in meaningful ways.
The event continues to grow each year, with strong participation across the network:
- 424 students participated
- 86 teams qualified for the final challenge
- 38 coaches supported student teams
- 31 schools were represented
Participation in Codeathon has continued to grow over the past two years, with more students, teams, and schools engaging in the event. This increase reflects a growing interest in STEM opportunities across Concept Schools and the value students find in applying their skills to real-world challenges.
Coaches also noted the impact of the experience, highlighting both the scale of the event and the opportunities it creates for students to collaborate and innovate.
“The event was well-executed and created a meaningful platform for students to collaborate, innovate, and show their skill,” one coach shared.
By working together to create, test, and present their ideas, students gain hands-on experience in coding, problem-solving, and collaboration. Codeathon provides a space where students can explore their interests in STEM while building confidence and developing their skills.
