South Ohio Students Shine at the 2026 CONSEF Regional Science Fair

On February 10, 2026, students from across the South Ohio region gathered at the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) to present their research at the CONSEF Regional Science Fair. The event brought together young scientists, educators, industry professionals, and community partners in a world-class environment dedicated to discovery and innovation.

This year’s event reflected both academic excellence and strong regional collaboration. Key highlights included:

  • 172 students presenting research projects across a wide range of STEM fields
  • 56 judges providing expert evaluations and meaningful feedback
  • More than 80 volunteers supporting logistics, coordination, and student engagement
  • Months of preparation, experimentation, and real-world problem-solving demonstrated by participants

Students and families were also inspired by guest speakers:

  • Alysa Reder, Director of the OSLN Central Ohio STEM Action Center 
  • Prince Charles Achaw, alumni and Genetic Technologist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital

Their insights connected classroom learning to real-world STEM careers and encouraged students to continue exploring their passions.

  • Future Scientists Excellence Award – HSA Cincinnati School
  • STEM Spirit Award – HSA Westerville School
  • Global Perspective Award – HSA Columbus Elementary School
  • Career Exploration Excellence Award – HSA Dayton Downtown School
  • Community Impact Award – Noble Academy Columbus

The CONSEF Regional Science Fair continues to provide meaningful opportunities for students to develop research, communication, and critical thinking skills while building confidence in their ideas and preparing for future academic and professional success.
