In an endearing display of appreciation and community, the students of Noble Academy have taken a moment to acknowledge their local heroes with a personal touch that's resonating within the Euclid Police Department. According to a recent social media post from the Euclid Police Department's official Facebook page, the children’s hand-written thank-you notes have been put up on display, brightening the days of officers passing by their department bulletin board.
The act of gratitude came after several officers, including veterans among them, took the time to visit the academy and read stories to K–5 students in celebration of Veterans Day. The officers, in turn, were touched by the warmth and respect shown by the students, a sentiment that Captain Donna Holden echoed as she donned the t-shirt and sunglasses given out during the reading activity. "Your support reminds us why community connections matter most," the post read, according to the Euclid Police Department, showcasing the two-way street of appreciation between the police force and the young citizens of Euclid.
The engagement between the officers and the students went beyond just story time, offering a chance for the children to see the people behind the uniform, some of whom have served their country in more ways than one. A photo accompanying the post shows Captain Holden wearing the gifts provided by the academy's students, a symbolic gesture of recognition for her service, and that of her fellow veteran officers.
