CHICAGO, IL –– Hundreds of people showed up for the 17th annual Concept Schools Art & Language Festival for a celebration of artistic expression and worldly culture. Students from in and out of Concept Schools' network wowed the audience at the Copernicus Center through on-stage performances and the event's art exhibition.
As an organization, Concept Schools believes in the power of giving students a platform to not only showcase their talent but build their confidence in front of their peers.
"The Art and Language Festival is a great opportunity for our students to showcase their talents," Director of Foreign Language and ELL Ihsan Ozulas said. "Watching our students come alive as they perform, express themselves and celebrate their cultures is a powerful reminder of why we do this work. This event isn't just about art or language–– it's about giving students a voice, a stage and confidence."
Between cello solos, Nirvana covers and interpretive dances from guest groups like the Atharv Gurukul Indian Traditional Dance Group, there was something for everyone at this year's ALF (you can watch the entire performance here). Check out some of the highlights below:
