Michael Kuran

Michael Kuran began his career in education as a Mathematics teacher in Columbus, OH. After obtaining his master’s degree in educational leadership, he took on his first administrative role as an assistant principal at Horizon Science Academy. There, he played a pivotal role in establishing a new high school program and later became the founding principal of HSA Dayton Elementary School. After spending 9 years in OH, Mr. Kuran moved on to become the principal at Quest Charter Academy of Peoria, where he successfully introduced a new high school program. In 2015, he relocated to Chicago and served as the principal of the Chicago Math Science Academy for 7 years. During this period, he pursued and completed his second master’s degree in STEM Leadership at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Most recently, he earned his doctoral degree in Instructional Technology at Northern Illinois University.

 

With an impressive 22-year tenure at Concept Schools, Mr. Kuran now holds the position of Chief Academic Officer. In this capacity, he oversees the academic department, planning, aligning, developing, implementing, directing, and evaluating the network's curriculum and instructional programs for PreK-12.

 

He resides in Chicago with his wife, Sophia, and their two children.
