Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! All Concept schools are back in person, and I know you are all so excited to be back in a classroom with your students again. While the beginning of the year is always a busy time for teachers, I would like to invite you all to consider refocusing your priorities on the important skills that our students need to be proficient readers and critical thinkers.
One of the most important of these skills is sourcing. Looking at documents through a historian’s lens means understanding their context and questioning the text. Whatever the document is, our students should be identifying the author but also questioning the author’s perspective and intention.
