Concept School's Professional Development Program

The Professional Development Department leads Concept Schools’ network-wide efforts to strengthen teaching, leadership, and school culture through high-quality, research-based training. Our mission is simple: ensure every educator in our network is equipped with the clarity, confidence, and capacity to deliver excellent instruction and create strong learning environments for all students. Through intentional design and collaboration, we support schools in fostering a culture where adults never stop growing and where professional learning directly shapes student success.As a core service unit within the Concept Schools Academic Department, the Professional Development Department provides a cohesive system of learning that supports staff at every stage of their development. This includes the design and facilitation of New Teacher Induction, Regional Professional Development sessions, Principal Professional Development, and the Aspiring Leaders Program. Each initiative is built around clear goals, high expectations, and the belief that effective professional development must be relevant, practical, and immediately actionable in classrooms and school buildings.Our department collaborates closely with directors, superintendents, and school leaders to ensure professional learning aligns with Concept Schools’ academic priorities and organizational values. We focus on strengthening classroom culture, improving instructional practices, developing leaders, and supporting schools in making data-informed decisions. Whether through large-scale trainings, small-group workshops, leadership coaching, or school-based support, our work is grounded in the idea that strong professional learning elevates both teaching and leadership. The Professional Development Department also plays a strategic role in building consistent expectations across the entire network. By creating shared frameworks, common tools, and ongoing learning opportunities, we help schools cultivate environments where professional growth is valued and supported. Our goal is to ensure that every educator—regardless of region or role—has access to the skills, knowledge, and support needed to grow in their craft and contribute to exceptional student outcomes.
