HSA-Columbus 2009 alumnus Dorma Flemister graduated from MIT on June 6, 2014
This school year marked two historic firsts for the Concept Schools network—which includes 30 schools in 6 Midwest states and which began in 1999—and both are from Horizon Science Academy Columbus, a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. We could not be prouder of these two students’ significant achievements, in addition to all Concept students in the Class of 2014:
Horizon Science Academy Columbus 2009 alumnus Dorma Flemister graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) this June with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. He is the first student in the Concept In addition to his proud family, Mr. Flemister’s graduation was attended by HSA-Columbus Alumni Coordinator Mr. Pala and two HSA-Columbus seniors. We wish him continued success and happiness in his future career.
HSA-Columbus Class of 2014 valedictorian Priscilla Daboni was accepted to the University of Chicago with a full-ride scholarship ($260,000). The University of Chicago ranks 5th in the US college rankings. Upon her acceptance news, Ms. Daboni said: “Horizon Science Academy is a phenomenal institution that strives to be the best and their intelligent, well-behaved, well-educated students are a very good reflection of the effort and determination they invest into bettering our communities.” We have no doubt that Ms. Daboni will represent HSA-Columbus well at the University of Chicago and in anything she puts her mind to doing.
We thank both Mr. Flemister and Ms. Daboni for serving as stellar role models for all students in the Concept family and congratulate them on their hard work and successes!
